Amy Nowaski, Dally Preschool teacherWe proudly announce that Amy Nowaski is our 2023-2024 Teacher of the Year at the Shelley Dally Early Learning Village.

Ms. Amy joined the VUSD preschool team, helping to lead the charge to create an inclusive preschool.

She provides engaging, robust, and fun lessons for all students, creating a learning environment that supports students at all levels. Amy truly understands child development and has spent many years honing her craft, engaging in professional development and implementing best practices.

The dramatic play area in her classroom is regularly transformed into a campsite, a bakery, or another magical space that promotes learning in meaningful ways. She is passionate about inclusion and develops activities with excitement and purpose.

The reputation of the Markham Preschool Program is well known, and her preschool class is always the first requested and filled. Amy puts her heart and soul into her students and her work. She is a partner in education for her students and their families, and she supports children with kindness, patience, and respect.

She runs an amazing class and supports her colleagues to ensure that all students receive an excellent education. She has mentored colleagues who are new to the field of teaching and special education case management.

Her peers look to her for guidance in building classroom themes and developing positive relationships with students. Amy is always willing to help when someone needs feedback or ideas on supporting a struggling student.

Amy is a wonderful asset to our team and the VUSD community.
